Stowe

The weather is beautiful, blue skies but the air is crisp and clear.

First, a drive up the private Toll Road which goes almost to the top of Mount Mansfield. From there you can walk or scramble to the top. The views are stunning. Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks to the East, Canada to the North and the White Mountains of New Hampshire to the East.

Next onto the Von Trapp lodge - a certain Austrian family fled the Nazis and settled here because it reminded them of home.

Finally a scenic drive, a covered bridge and a visit to the home of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream.
